Got an 250GB SSD and 16GB RAM to upgrade my server for christmas.
Installed ram earlier today, configuring SSD with my MacBook before installation mainly because I do not have parts necessary to install, but also because it’s easier to make the transition this way. Won’t have to have server offline for hours for me to install OS X, install all the software, and configure it.
Once I got the SSD installed with Mavericks, I will configure it and once it’s configured, I will make the transition using my ThunderBolt adapter (to get the best speed possible out of it) for SATA temporary until I get parts in Monday.
As it is, even with my large databases, the SSD will hold all the data on my server. But I know that will change, so I am installing it in addition to the HDD.
